United Kingdom: Wrongful detention of asylum-seeker Raghbir Singh

By Amnesty International, , Index number: EUR 45/001/1996

AI fears that Raghbir Singh, an asylum-seeker currently detained in the UK, would face possible torture or ill-treatment, extrajudicial execution or "disappearance" were he to be forcibly returned to India. He has been held in prison without charge or trial since March 1995 pending the outcome of his application for political asylum. AI believes that he may be a prisoner of conscience.
