Amnesty International is concerned for the health of Osman Murat Ulke, a conscientious objector to military service who is currently on hunger-strike at Mamak Military Prison in Istanbul. The organization believes that he is being held in violation of Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights, safeguarding the right to freedom of thought and conscience, and as such should be released.
