Medical letter writing action: Turkey: Possible imminent resumption of executions

On 17 November 1993 a Turkish Parliamentary Judicial Commission approved a sentence of death for the first time in over nine years. The sentence will now be voted on by the full parliament. The Turkish Medical Association, faced with laws which require a doctor’s presence at executions, have issued a statement calling urgently for an amendment to the law.
