Norway: The human cost of ‘crushing’ the market: Criminalization of sex work in Norway: Executive summary

In 2009, Norway became the third country in the Nordic region to criminalize the purchase of sex. While the direct selling of sex is not illegal, the penal code also outlaws “promotion” of sex work. This document summarises the Amnesty International report which provides recommendations for the current legislation to be amended and measures to be adopted towards protecting the human rights of all sex workers in Norway.
