Authorities at Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, Punjab province, have announced that Mirza Tahir Hussain (m) will be executed on 3 August 2006. He had previously been granted a stay of execution to allow his family more time to seek a pardon from and to offer monetary compensation to the family of the taxi driver he was found guilty of killing. However, the victim’s family have refused to accept their offer.
