Pakistan: The pattern persists

This short paper focuses on the continuing pattern of torture, deaths in custody, extrajudicial executions and “disappearances” which have continued to be reported from all parts of Pakistan during the first 15 months of the PPP government. It follows the publication of a major country report (ASA 33/01/95, January 1995), which documented the cases of at least 67 people who died, allegedly due to torture, during the period under review.
