Indonesia: Open letter from Amnesty International to political parties taking part in the June 1999 National Parliamentary elections

This is an open letter from Amnesty International to all political parties and candidates in the National Parliamentary elections to be held in June 1999. It calls on them to commit to a full program of human rights reform, including the release of all prisoners of conscience, repeal of repressive legislation, the abolition of the death penalty, undertaking of institutional reform, an end to impunity for human rights violations, increased cooperation with the United Nations, and human rights training and promotion.
