Indonesia: Submission to the United Nations Human Rights Committee for the 108th Session of the Human Rights Committee

Amnesty International submits this briefing to the Human Rights Committee ahead of its examination of Indonesia’s report on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Amnesty International’s main areas of concern include ongoing serious human rights violations by security forces; restrictions in law and practice on the rights to freedom of expression and freedom of religion; discrimination and other violations of women’s human rights; abuses of the rights of migrant domestic workers; failure to ensure justice, truth and reparation for past abuses; and continued use of the death penalty.
