People's Republic of China, Hong Kong S.A.R.: Human rights one year on: No room for complacency
On the first anniversary of China's resumption of sovereignty over Hong Kong Amnesty International reflects on the developments in human rights issues in the region. These issues include criticism of the authorities handling of peaceful demonstrations and the restrictions placed on these protests, significant legal changes which have detrimentally affected human rights, police brutality and the treatment of Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong.
