This documents highlights Amnesty International’s concerns regarding the mass arrest and long-term imprisonment of students, some of whom are prisoners of conscience. Many of those detained have been subjected to torture or ill-treatment. Amnesty International is calling for the release of those held as prisoners of conscience, and for the cases of the others to be reviewed by the authorities. A list of those known to be detained is attached.
