USA: Unlawful detentions must end, not be transferred
Amnesty International is calling for the detention facility at Guantánamo Bay to close and for an end to the US government practices of secret detention and rendition. However, any step that would mean transferring unlawful detentions elsewhere, or exposing detainees to more human rights violations in other countries, must be rejected. This document urges for restoration of habeas corpus, fair trails and the prohibition of torture and other ill-treatment.
