Bobby Hines, scheduled for execution in Texas on 11 December 2003, has received a stay of execution. His lawyers had appealed on the ground of evidence that Bobby Hines has mental retardation and that his execution would violate last year’s US Supreme Court decision, Atkins v Virginia.
