Cesar Fierro was granted an indefinite stay of execution on 5 August 1994. According to press reports, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has also ordered a hearing into his allegations that the police suppressed information at trial relating to their involvement with Mexican police in their investigation of the murder for which he is being sentenced to death.
