EXTRA 28/94 - USA (Florida): death penalty: Marvin Johnson
Marvin Johnson, white, is scheduled to be executed in Florida on 19 May 1994. He was sentenced to death in January 1979 for the murder of a drugstore owner, also white. The jury at his trial recommended life imprisonment, but were overruled by the presiding judge. His sentence was upheld on appeal by a narrow majority of the State Supreme Court.
