Amnesty International has learned that the execution of Charles Coleman,
scheduled for 10 September in Oklahoma has been carried out as planned. Thank
you to all who sent appeals. Please send further appeals as shown below.
FURTHER RECOMMENDED ACTION: Express and airmail letters:
- expressing regret at Oklahoma's resumption of executions;
- expressing concern that Mr Coleman was sentenced to death and executed in
spite of evidence relating to him suffering from organic brain damage, evidence
which was not submitted to the jury during the sentencing phase of the trial.
