USA: Letter to US Secretary of Defense in relation to hunger-strikes at Guantánamo
In this letter Amnesty International expresses deep concern at the situation faced by the detainees held in Department of Defense custody at the US naval base at Guantánamo Bay in Cuba. The long-held concern about the psychological and physical impact of years of indefinite detention upon the detainees is heightened by reports that a number of the men are currently on hunger-strike.
