This document contains disturbing reports of the alleged rape of two teenage girls by soldiers in separate incidents in the department of San Martin. Froily Mori Vela, a 14-year-old schoolgirl, was reportedly raped by seven soldiers on the night of 7 June 1991; they had searched her parents’ house in La Union, Nueva Lima district. A forensic doctor subsequently diagnosed signs consistent with the allegations of rape. Olivia Perez Fernandez, aged 15 and seven months pregnant, was reportedly raped on 28 April 1992 by soldiers who had raided the home of her partner, Ennegardo Pua Vela, in Tarapoto town. She and her partner were allegedly beaten during the raid. Olivia Perez was hospitalized for a haemorrhage the same day; three days later she lost her baby.
