Peru: Appeal - Close Challapalca Prison. Update
This appeal is part of the campaign launched in August 2004 in order to urge the Peruvian authorities to implement the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Final Report. Treatment of prisoners in Challapalca Maximum Security Prison and conditions there are considered to amount to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and to constitute an additional punishment.
