Peru: Open letter to the presidential candidates of Peru
In this open letter Amnesty International writes to all the presidential candidates to raise the organization’s human rights concerns with them. The organization is particularly concerned by the continuing violations of the rights of Peru’s most vulnerable. Indigenous peoples’ rights to their territories and way of life continue to be violated in the name of development. Women and young girls continue to have their sexual and reproductive rights denied. Lesbian, gay and transgender people are discriminated against because of their sexual orientation.
