Paraguay: Further information: Survival of indigenous community at risk

There are increased concerns for the survival of the Sawhoyamaxa indigenous community in Paraguay as negotiations with the authorities to ensure they can return to their ancestral land have stopped. The community has been forced to live in deplorable conditions alongside a main highway for many years because their land is in hands of private owners.
