There is concern for the safety of Samuel Milord, a deputy of the Front National pour le Changement et la Democratie (FNCD), National Front for Change and Democracy, the party coalition that supports President Aristide. According to reports, he was abducted from his home in the area of Desdunes, department of Artibonite, on 20 October 1993 by a group of attaches (armed auxiliaries to the security forces). The authorities have denied any knowledge of his detention.
