Guatemala: Further information: Government refuses to protect communities

By Amnesty International, , Index number: AMR 34/014/2011

Fourteen Q’echi indigenous communities in Guatemala, who were forcibly evicted in March 2011, have been told that the Guatemalan government won’t support or protect them. Up to 800 families in the Valle de Polochic in north-eastern Guatemala are at risk of being attacked and do not have access to adequate food, water and housing.
