Cuba: Further information on arbitrary arrest / legal concern / prisoners of conscience
Vladimiro Roca Antunes, Maria Beatriz Roque Cabello, Rene Gomez Manzano, Felix A Bonne Carcases, members of the Internal Dissidents' Working Group for the Analysis of the Cuban Socio-Economic Situation; Luis Lopez Prendes, journalist with the Cuban Independent Press Bureau; and new name: Odilia Collazo Valdes: Amnesty International has received reports of the arrest of at least one other person connected with the Grupo de Trabajo de la Disidencia Interna para el Analisis de la Situacion Socio-Economica Cubana. Odilia Collazo Valdes is president of a support committee for the above group and is also the Secretary-General of the Partido Pro Derechos Humanos en Cuba (PPDHC). She was arrested in Havana on 17 July 1997 and is also considered a prisoner of conscience. Luis Lopez Prendes has been released, although his identity card was reportedly confiscated.
