ARGENTINA: Hebe de BONAFINI
and other members of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo organization
There have been no new reports of further threats against Sra. de Bonafini
or the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo. Amnesty International was concerned for the
safety of Hebe de Bonafini, president of the human rights organization Madres
de Plaza de Mayo, Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, and about the harassment of other
members of the same organization, following repeated death threats and a series
of break-ins at the headquarters in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Mothers of Plaza de Mayor have thanked Amnesty International for
the many appeals sent on their behalf to the Argentine authorities.
No further action is required. We are very grateful to all those who
appealed on their behalf.
