Sudan: Protecting Civilians in Darfur: A Briefing for Effective Peacekeeping

Civilians in Darfur continue to be killed, raped and forcibly displaced in large numbers. Some 250,000 people have been driven from their homes and from places where they have sought safety since the beginning of 2006. This briefing includes 10 recommendations that AMIS must follow to ensure effective protection of civilians in Darfur in full compliance with international human rights and humanitarian law.
