Human rights lawyer Saleh Mahmud Osman has been detained incommunicado since 1 February, and is at risk of torture or ill-treatment. It is not known why Saleh Mahmud Osman, who works in Nyala, in Darfur, in the west of Sudan, was arrested. However, he has provided legal aid to detainees, those facing capital punishment and victims of human rights abuses in Darfur.
