Deogratias Bizimana, former medical assistant, Egide Gatanazi, former local government administrator; and new names: Francois Bizumutima, former teacher from Byumba (32), Augustin Ngendahayo, Faustin Niyonzima, Ignace Nsengiyumva (former teachers from Butare): More trials have been taking place for defendants accused of participation in the 1994 genocide and there remains concern that these trials are grossly unfair as the defendants have not been able to obtain lawyers. Sentences against the above named former teachers who are being tried in Byumba and Butare are due to be announced on 17 January.
