Zimbabwe: Media outlets - Case Sheet, The Daily News
This brief document provides a case history of the closure of this newspaper. The Supreme Court ruled that the newspaper was "illegal" because of its refusal to register with the Media and Information Commission (MIC) as required by Section 66 of the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (AIPPA). The MIC has continually refused to issue the newspaper with a licence. As a result of the court ruling, the Daily News stopped publication of its paper.
