Nigeria: Further information on fear of ill-treatment and new concern: prisoner of conscience / health concern: Otunba (Chief) Olabiyi Durojaiye
Chief Olabiyi Durojaiye, aged 63, is a lawyer, an economist and a founding member of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO). Since 3 December 1996 he has been detained in military custody, incommunicado and without charge. He is reportedly in ill-health and suffering from high blood pressure as a result of the harsh conditions in which he is being held. He is believed to be a prisoner of conscience.
