Mozambique: Turn the page! A human rights manifesto for Mozambican political parties and candidates, October 2019 election

On 15 October 2019, Mozambican are heading to the ballot box for their 6th general election since the end of the civil war in 1992. Despite lofty statements to put human rights at the centre, there are worrying signs of a roll back on human rights in the country. This Manifesto urges political parties and candidates to make a public commitment to uphold all the rights enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic Mozambique, and regional and international human rights treaties to which Mozambique is a state party. It is time to turn the page!
