Professor Wangari Maathai is no longer in hiding nor has serious fears for her safety. She presented herself to police who reportedly denied that they were looking for her. Subsequently meetings she had called about the issue of “clashes victims” in the Rift Valley Province were banned and she has been barred from visiting the area.
