Cameroon: extrajudicial execution: more than 50 Shua Arab villagers, including women and children

More than 50 unarmed Shua Arab men, women and children were killed in the village of Karena on 17 February 1994 in an attack by soldiers from the 31st battalion; almost 100 others were wounded. The attack took place the day after the village chief and a soldier had been killed in an incident involving bandits. AI condemns the killings and is calling for urgent measures to prevent further killings and for those responsible to be brought to justice.
