Burundi: Protecting human rights: an intrinsic part of the search for peace
Amnesty International is submitting this memorandum for the consideration of all those involved in the search for peace in Burundi, both nationally and internationally. The memorandum provides a number of recommendations concerning the mandate of the peacekeeping forces and the challenge of impunity. It also sets out recommendations for the reform of the judiciary, police and armed forces and the treatment of political prisoners, the internally displaced, refugees and children.
