Human rights and sexual orientation and gender identity

This document describes a range of cases Amnesty International has documented or taken up over recent years of egregious human rights violations against lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people. The selection of cases demonstrates the need for the Commission on Human Rights to take the opportunity at the 60th session of the Commission on Human Rights to reaffirm the universality of human rights and the principle of the right to be free from discrimination on which human rights law is grounded.
