Women, HIV/AIDS and human rights
Amnesty International is calling for concerted action to address the risk of HIV in the context of violence against women. This paper reviews the current risks faced by women in the context of the HIV pandemic as well as the human rights standards which should protect women from exposure to the virus and should ensure access to medical services and social care should they get the virus.
