Nurses and human rights
This report illustrates some of the cases of human rights violations perpetrated against nurses, the problems posed to nurses by inadequate conditions in prisons, the infliction of corporal punishment and the death penalty, the role of the nurse in forensic investigations, and nurses as carers for refugees and asylum seekers. Amnesty International believes that nurses and nursing organizations have an important role to play in the defence of human rights in general and the protection of nurses' rights in particular.
