Prescription for change: health professionals and the exposure of human rights violations
Health professionals have opportunities and responsibilities in the documentation of human rights violations. Factors impeding against the playing of this role include governments and armed groups bringing pressure to bear against them. AI is urging inter-governmental organizations, international and national professional associations and national governments to ensure that health professionals fulfil their professional role in the exposure of human rights, both through ensuring their access to victims of human rights abuses and guaranteeing their security.
