Take a Step to Stamp out Torture
This report, published for the launch of the Campaign Against Torture, draws on recent reports of torture and ill-treatment from more than 150 countries. It focuses on three main areas - preventing torture (strategy building, stopping the torture trade, the protection of refugees, treatment of torture survivors, the building of safeguards in custody situations and the involvement of the medical profession in torture), confronting discrimination (against women, children, ethnic groups and groups persecuted for their sexual orientation) and overcoming impunity. The report also contains appeals cases from specific countries.
