Russian Federation: Death penalty appeal: Aleksandr Vladimirovich Solovyov

An unofficial source reports that Aleksandr Solovyov, a 30-year-old veteran of the Afghan War, was sentenced to death by Krasnodar Territorial Court in the Russian Federation on 9 October 1991. He had been convicted of intentional homicide with aggravating circumstances, assault with intent to rob, illegal possession of weapons and illegal possession of narcotics. An appeal has been lodged with the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. Aleksandr Solovyov is currently held on death row in and investigation prison in the city of Krasnodar.
