Germany: Human rights guarantees undermined: Amnesty International submission for the UN Universal Periodic Review – 30th session of the UPR Working Group, May 2018

In this submission, prepared for the Universal Periodic Review of Germany in May 2018, Amnesty International expresses concern about national legislation on privacy and on counter-terrorism breaching human rights standards, and the risk of refoulement of rejected asylum-seekers. Amnesty International also raises concerns about racial discrimination and hate crime, lack of investigation into allegations of torture and ill-treatment by the police, and violations of the rights of children with variations of sex characteristics.
