Singapore: Civil, political rights diminish further: Amnesty International submission for the UN Universal Periodic Review, 38th Session of the UPR Working Group, 3-14 May 2021

This submission was prepared for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Singapore taking place in May 2021. In it, Amnesty International evaluates the implementation of recommendations accepted by Singapore in its previous UPR and assesses the national human rights framework. Amnesty International raises concerns about continued human rights violations, including restrictions on freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, as well as the use of the death penalty. The organisation makes a number of recommendations to the government.
