Afghanistan: Amnesty International’s campaign to stop torture and ill-treatment in the ‘war on terror’

In this document Amnesty International expresses its concern that the US military and other agencies, possibly including other coalition forces, have committed serious human rights violations on Afghan territory. The organization is also concerned that despite the Afghan government’s efforts to re-establish the rule of law and restore peace and stability, it is allowing violations to continue without serious protest. Moreover, US forces have reportedly used Afghan government facilities and involved Afghan officials in abusive practices in the context of the “war on terror”.
