USA: Illegal US detentions Focus Sheet: Action Works: End Illegal Detention

This focus sheet looks at actions taken by Amnesty International and other human rights activists since the first prisoners were sent to Guantánamo in January 2002. They have exposed details of the rendition programme. Until litigation forced the US government to name those held at Guantánamo, the Organization ensured their plight was not forgotten by the outside world.
