China: Legacy of the Beijing Olympics: Free Ye Guozhu: China’s choice, your voice

In 2003, a property belonging to Ye Guozhu was seized by developers. In 2004, he was detained, tried in secret and given a four year sentence. Amnesty International considers the charges against Ye Guozhu to be a politically motivated attempt to prevent him from exercising his human rights to freedom of expression, association and assembly. The organization considers Ye Guozhu to be a human rights defender and a prisoner of conscience and is calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
