Report on United Nations Working Group on Indigenous Populations, 11th session (Geneva, 19-30 July 1993)

The agenda of the Working Group on Indigenous Populations’ 11th session covered: standard setting (Draft Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples); review of developments; study of treaties, agreements and other constructive arrangements between states and indigenous peoples; study on the cultural and intellectual property of indigenous peoples; International Year of the World’s Indigenous People; World Conference on Human Rights; future role of the working group; and other meetings. The group’s conclusions and recommendations are reported. Appended are the Draft Declaration of the UN’s Working Group on Indigenous Populations (including amendments) and the Programme of Action of the Final Document of the World Conference on Human Rights.
