Kingdom of Cambodia: Killing of Thun Bun Ly

Thun Bun Ly, the editor of the newspaper Oddomkete Khmae (Khmer Ideal), and a party worker with Cheat Khmae (Khmer Nation Party) was shot dead in Phnom Penh on 18 May 1996. Shortly before his death Thun Bun Ly had expressed fears for his safety, and had reportedly been under surveillance. Amnesty International is calling on the authorities to set up an immediate and impartial investigation into his death, and to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
