China: Further information on medical concern: Zhou Guoqiang

Zhou Guoqiang, a labour activist and prisoner of conscience, continues to suffer from pulmonary tuberculosis for which he is reportedly not receiving appropriate medical care. He was sentenced in September 1994 to three years’ detention for re-education with hard labour, which was later increased to four years’, and is currently being held at Shuanghe Labour Farm in Heilongjiang Province. Amnesty International is calling on the authorities to ensure that he receives all necessary medical care and that he be released immediately and unconditionally.
