Mexico: Fear for safety: Mariclaire Acosta Urquidi, human rights defender

Mariclaire Acosta Urquidi, who is the president of the Mexican Commission for the Defence and Promotion of Human Rights, has been the target of death threats and intimidation. On 9 July 1997 two men claiming to be judicial police unlawfully entered her home. There is grave concern for her safety.
