FRY (Kosovo) Update from the field – January 2000

This document describes some of Amnesty International’s recent findings from field researchers working in Kosovo (Kosova) in the period from December 1999 to mid-January 2000. It presents background on the situation as well as Amnesty International’s concerns. These include increasing human rights violations against moderate ethnic Albanians and various minorities, lack of adequate processes for the investigation of abuses, unfair trials of Albanian prisoners from Kosovo and the plight of thousands of refugees and displaced persons in the region.
