Bulgaria: Tsvetalin Perov, a 16 year-old boy, severely burned in police detention

Amnesty International is concerned that Tsvetalin Perov, a 16-year-old Roma boy, was allegedly set on fire in police detention in Vidin on 29 April 2000. Police officers have claimed that he set himself on fire, yet inconsistencies and illogicalities in their account, and the unexplained disappearance of material evidence, leave their claims open to question.
